HELP ELECT MOMS
with Liuba Grechen Shirley of Vote Mama and Congressional Candidate Jasmine Beach-Ferrara
I believe that no one cares more about the future of the country than mothers of young children. It’s basically been proven. In a study on women in congress, it was found that “moms write five more bills over their average stay in Congress than other women,” and moms with children under the age of 18 write the most amount of bills when compared with women without children or women with adult children.
Vote Mama is working hard to elect more moms by getting legislation passed that allows campaign funds to be used for childcare and by supporting candidates running for office at the local, state, and federal levels. Liuba Grechen Shirley started Vote Mama after her run for congress. She faced many challenges as a mom of two young children (she now has 3) and she’s using everything she learned to help current mama candidates, like Jasmine Beach-Ferrara. Jasmine is a mother of 3 running for congress in Western North Carolina and she is also currently serving as Chair of the Early Childhood Education and Development Committee.
